The company is managed by Ms. Marlene Arraya de Biste, who had already successfully managed an exploration company in Santa Cruz de la Sierra from 1994 to 1998. Dr. Michael Biste is deputy managing director and consultant geologist. The company has a permanent secretary and an office boy. Accounting, legal advice and all other essential business activities are outsourced to external firms to save costs.

EMPO also has the necessary connections to local engineers and technicians who have worked with Dr. Biste in the past and are available on call for future projects. EMPO's direct connections to the local skilled and support staff (the so-called mineros) play a crucial role.

EMPO runs an exploration office in Santa Cruz de la Sierra for swift, efficient implementation of the various projects. It is responsible for exploration of the five mining franchises of  Empresa Minera A.G. (EMAG), managing progress on site, coordinating the activities of the engineers and skilled staff and finally proceeding to mine the existing minerals and metals.

With this programme, the company can rely on Dr. Biste's expertise who is very familiar with the franchise area from his work in the past. He led an exploration team here over a longer period of time which carried out remote sensing studies, geological mapping work, geochemical sampling and recording geophysical data.
